It was great to speak to HR Leader about how employers can get the balance of embracing their people’s passions and still achieving commercial and business success.
This isn’t an either/or, the companies that have cohesions between passion and business success tend to be the ones that thrive. There’s a value flow that intertwines people and purpose – it starts at the person, then family, community, society, and the planet as a whole. Corporate purpose sits somewhere in that value chain, and it’s important organisations define to their people where they fit in that value chain, so that the person can decide whether their purpose aligns.
With people facing a cost-of-living crisis and ongoing high inflation, paired with the myriad business challenges going on at the moment, that purpose factor can be an imperative piece to achieving those sought after business outcomes
